The dust is settling after one of the best season’s in Leeds United’s history. 100 points, 95 goals scored (it would have been 98 if not for a incompetent lineman!) and the Championship trophy sitting proudly in the Leeds trophy cabinet.

I’ve taken a couple of weeks to let it all sink in. How can you forget the feeling after Stoke City and Bristol City, these are the times that don’t happen too often when your a Leeds fan. The city centre parade was just the icing on a beautiful cake.

There are many games that stick out, so I’ll mention a few that stood out for me in 2024/25.

Sheffield United at home: A dodgy first 20 minutes but for the rest of the game the ‘Blades’ were put to the sword and Leeds showed their promotion credentials with a fine 2-0 win.

Leeds 7 (seven) Cardiff: Six different scorers as the Welsh team were battered. It was the first time Leeds had scored seven since 1972 in that never to be forgotten win over Southampton.

Sunderland at home: Losing with only minutes to play but Daniel had a plan. On went Joe Rothwell and the ‘sexy pirate’ Pascal Struijk. Rothwell’s corner headed in by Struijk and in the dying seconds Rothwell again supplied Struijk to head in the winner.

Sheffield United away: Behind to a first half goal. Leeds completely dominated the second half with Firpo heading an equaliser before two late goals from AO and Piroe gave Leeds the points. Superb.

Watford away: An away masterclass when Leeds scored four away from home. Dan James showing not for the first time he was one of the best players in the Championship.

Stoke City at home: Who would have thought in a key game Leeds could do it so ‘unLeedsey’ by giving them a hammering. Joel Piroe, after a run of games without a goal getting four.

Bristol City at home: One of the best performances of the season with nearly all the players rating either a eight or nine with Piroe getting the magic 10.

Plymouth away: Needing to match Burnley’s result to claim the title they went behind but kept their heads and Willy got the equaliser to set up a nervy last ten minutes and just as the Burnley fans were about to celebrate, up stepped Manor Solomon to weave his magic and shoot Leeds to the title in the very first minute of injury time. Unbelievable.

What a season it’s been and we can look forward to August when once again we step out as a Premier League side. Well done Daniel, his staff and the players for making it one of the best bloody seasons I can remember.

Player of the Season: Joe Rodon

Young Player: Willy Gnonto

CHAMPIONS AGAIN OLE OLE !! MOT
